B:AID stocks four botulinum toxins: Botox from the US, Xeomin from Germany, and Coretox and Meditoxin from Korea. All are type-A botulinum toxin and work the same way — relaxing overactive muscles. The differences come down to three things: complexing proteins, origin and approvals, and price.
Complexing proteins and resistance
Xeomin and Coretox have the complexing proteins removed, which in principle lowers the chance of developing antibodies and finding the treatment stops working. If you plan regular, long-term treatment of the masseter or wrinkles, we usually suggest one of these two. Botox and Meditoxin contain complexing proteins but have long clinical histories and plenty of data — also reliable choices.
Origin and approvals
Botox was the first to gain FDA approval and is the most widely used worldwide; Xeomin is made by Merz in Germany; Coretox and Meditoxin are produced by Medytox in Korea in cGMP-standard facilities. All four come through authorized channels, and you can check the packaging on the spot.
Price and our advice
For the masseter at 50 units: Botox ₩185,000, Xeomin ₩132,000, Coretox ₩99,000 (before VAT). For a first treatment on a budget, Coretox offers the best value; if resistance is a concern and you treat often, choose Xeomin; regular Botox users can simply stay with Botox. Dose and area are decided by a director at consultation.
